Mountain View Power was formed as an innovative Community Sustainability Initiative and is owned by the Town of Olds. Mountain View Power markets electricity, natural gas and green generated power to residential, farming and small business located in the County of Mountain View.

New Lower Rates October 2023

Great news! As of October 2023, Mountain View Power is now offering even more cost savings compared to Direct Energy, only 12.10 cents/kwh compared to 17.59 cents/kwh.  If you’re 60+, this discount is even better at only 11.85/kwh.  

Mountain View Power Community Grants

Purchase your electricity and natural gas from Mountain View Power at competitive rates and support your community at the same time. One hundred per cent of profits go to support and grow our community and region in a vibrant and sustainable manner. The criteria for projects or programs that receive financial support are those that encourage, initiate and facilitate community and economic development through the incorporation of the five dimensions of sustainability: social, cultural, environment, economy, and governance.

Fall 2023 Intake - Winners Announced

Three local community groups recently received funding through the Mountain View Power (MVP) Community Grant Program, financed by designated MVP profits. This fall, the program approved funding for three standout applications that met the program’s approval guidelines. The funding recipients were the Olds Curling Club, Mountain View Nordic Ski Club, and the Undercover Elf event by Olds Fashioned Christmas.
